Video, Displays & Screens · Elite Home Entertainment

Stewart Filmscreen projection screens designed around the theater.

A projection screen is an optical component, not simply a white rectangle on the wall. Elite Home Entertainment uses room dimensions, projector characteristics, seating, ambient light, speaker placement, and design goals to determine the right screen approach for a dedicated theater or media room.

Designed as a complete system

Why Stewart Filmscreen belongs in a professionally integrated project

Stewart Filmscreen specializes in projection-screen systems and screen materials for demanding residential and professional applications. Depending on the room, the design may call for a fixed-frame screen, acoustically transparent approach, masking strategy, or another configuration that supports the intended image and speaker layout.

Elite Home Entertainment supplies the equipment specified for the project, professionally installs it, configures and integrates the system, verifies operation, and provides a practical client walkthrough. Our installation labor is backed by our lifetime workmanship warranty; product warranties remain subject to the applicable manufacturer terms.

Stewart Filmscreen FAQs

These are the questions that usually matter when we are deciding whether Stewart Filmscreen is the right fit for a project.

Why does projection screen material matter?

Screen material affects brightness, viewing angle, color neutrality, black level perception, hotspotting, and how the image behaves in the room. The correct material depends on the projector, image size, seating, ambient light, and whether speakers sit behind the screen.

What is an acoustically transparent screen?

An acoustically transparent screen allows the front speakers to be positioned behind the image, which helps dialogue and effects originate from the screen area. The screen material and speaker placement must be planned together.

How do you determine the right screen size?

We consider seating distance, room width and height, sightlines, projector capability, speaker placement, aspect ratio, and the client’s viewing preferences. Bigger is not automatically better if it compromises comfort or image performance.

Can Stewart screens be used with masking systems?

Stewart offers multiple theater-oriented screen configurations, including solutions intended for sophisticated projection environments. We determine whether masking or variable-aspect presentation makes sense for the specific room and projector.

Do you frame the wall and plan speaker locations around the screen?

Yes. For dedicated theaters, screen wall construction, speaker placement, subwoofers, acoustic treatment, service access, and projector geometry should be planned together.

Can you replace an existing screen without replacing the projector?

Often yes. We evaluate the current projector, throw distance, lens position, image size, brightness, and room conditions to see whether a new screen can improve the system without replacing everything.

Do you install and align the screen as part of the theater project?

Yes. Screen installation, leveling, alignment, projector geometry, source verification, and final system checks are part of the completed room scope we provide.
